Important Questions Regarding Coronavirus & Home Delivery

Are we still offering Installation Services?

Yes. We’re taking a sensible approach to the evolving situation with Coronavirus by following all government advice to make sure we can continue to serve our customers and protect our people.

However, due to the current situation around Coronavirus, we are having to adapt the service we can provide. Therefore, if you are self-isolating we won’t be able to enter your house to carry out any installation services and will have to leave it on your doorstep. If this is the case, but you would rather we install the item, you can rebook the delivery for a later date.

What precautions are your delivery drivers taking to ensure I don’t get Coronavirus?

Our drivers have been issued with disinfectant wipes to keep their vans clean and virus free. Drivers will also be wearing disposable gloves. If a driver asks to wash their hands in your home we would appreciate if you could help them out.

Can your driver refuse to come into my house and install my product?

Keeping our people and customers healthy and safe is a top priority so there may be an occasion where a driver does not feel comfortable entering your home. If this does occur you can agree to a doorstep delivery or re-book the delivery through our customer service team.

What happens if am waiting for a delivery and start to feel unwell or I’m told to self-isolate?

You should rebook your delivery by contacting us on 01263 712302 or 01328 862080 and talk to one of our team. You might decide to re-arrange your delivery or we can deliver to your doorstep. However, we won’t be able to offer the full range of services, including installation. See below if you are self-isolating.

I’m not self-isolating but I’m feeling a bit unwell – can I still order from you?

We are sorry to hear that you are feeling unwell. We can still deliver but we will need to take a number of precautions as if you are self-isolating, please see below. However, you might want to think about rearranging your delivery for a few weeks’ time when you are feeling better.

I’m self-isolating – will you still deliver?

We are sorry to hear you have had to self-isolate. We can still deliver but we will need to take a number of precautions.

We won’t be able to enter your home so unfortunately, we won’t be able to undertake any installation work. We will have to perform a doorstep delivery. You will not have to sign for the delivery, instead, we will take pictures of your delivery on the doorstep, helping to reduce any unnecessary contact.

You might want to think about arranging your delivery for a few weeks’ time when you are out of self-isolation then we can resume our normal excellent customer service.

If my product was delivered but it’s got a fault, will you come and uninstall it/collect it?

We’re sorry that you have a fault with your product. We’re taking a sensible approach to the evolving situation with Coronavirus by following all Government advice to make sure we can continue to serve our customers and protect our people.

If the product has just been delivered or you’ve had it a while and it has developed a fault we will follow our normal procedures unless you are self-isolating. These are difficult times and if you are self-isolating we won’t be able to enter your house or property to uninstall or collect your product.

Terms and Conditions of Install and Disposal

1. Kings and Barnhams only install water and electrically connected appliances to existing connections on a like for like basis. If alterations are required there will be an extra charge.

2. We are unable to perform carpentry or plumbing work if it is needed for the new appliance to be installed. For example, cupboard door/carcas adjustments for integrated appliances.

3. Please ensure that water pipes can be turned off before installation to avoid any additional costs if we have to return. If water valves or taps cannot be turned off, installation cannot take place until a plumber has dealt with the issue.

4. It is the customers responsibility to ensure all measurements are correct for installation of any product. If in doubt, we offer a measure up service which is chargeable at the time of booking.

5. Further to point 4, if a product is ordered without advisement by Kings and Barnhams staff, we accept no liability if the product does not fit.

6. Further to the above, we, unfortunately, cannot provide a fixed install price for Integrated Fridge Freezers or Cooker Hoods. Instead, we can install these at an hourly rate. However, please check your kitchen units are suitable to house the appliance/s and that the door splits on your Fridge / Freezer match the new appliance. We strongly recommend the use of our measure up service to avoid any issues. If an appliance does not fit, we can supply a contact number for a carpenter, who will then charge accordingly to make adjustments (these charges are separate to those shown above).

7. If additional materials are needed to complete an installation, these products will incur an extra charge, which will be chargeable at the time. For instance, a 2.5 metre water hose / waste extension pipe. The customer will be quoted before any materials are used.

8. We cannot provide delivery and installation of appliances to rooms or areas where our technicians deem it unsafe to do so or would create a hazard to persons or property. This includes stacking of appliances without correct stacking kits or positioning large appliances above floor level or on uneven surfaces.

9. Whilst every effort is made to cover various options, if the installation is not standard there will be additional charges.
